How to Press a Shirt with DTF Transfers

1. Set Your Press
Use the temperature, time, and pressure settings from the chart above. If you're unsure, a good starting point is 300°F, 10 seconds, medium pressure.
2. Pre-Press the Shirt
Place the shirt on your heat press and press it for 5 seconds. This helps remove moisture and smooth out wrinkles.
3. Position Your Transfer
Lay the DTF transfer film flat on the shirt — design side up, film side down — exactly where you want the print.
4. Press It
Close the press and apply pressure for 10 seconds. Don’t overthink it — just let the press do the work.
5. Peel the Film
Depending on the film type, peel it hot or wait for it to cool completely. If you're not sure, let it cool first — cold peel is the safer route.
6. Repress for Finish
Place a piece of parchment or Teflon sheet on top of the design and press again for 10 seconds. This locks in the print and gives it a nice matte finish.
7. All Done!
Let it cool down for a few seconds, and your shirt is ready to wear or sell.

*When in doubt, test on a sample shirt. Every material can press a little different.
